So, what is the Paleo Diet (PD) anyways?  In short, the PD is returning to the way humans are designed to eat; the way humans ate prior to the Agrarian Revolution circa 10,000 B.C.E.  It's a diet composed of lean meat, vegetables, and fruit that eliminates processed foods such as grains and dairy.

Dr. Loren Cordain lays out a host of reasons for this method of eating in his books, and it is not my intent to steal his thunder here.  Suffice to say, The Paleo Diet is worth a read to understand why eating this way is such an excellent idea.

As noted in my last post, Dr. Cordain also co-wrote The Paleo Diet for Athletes with Joe Friel.  The Paleo Diet for Athletes adapts the diet for athletes who train at a high level, and details why the adaptations are necessary.
