So, what is the Paleo Diet (PD) anyways? In short, the PD is returning to the way humans are designed to eat; the way humans ate prior to the Agrarian Revolution circa 10,000 B.C.E. It's a diet composed of lean meat, vegetables, and fruit that eliminates processed foods such as grains and dairy.
Dr. Loren Cordain lays out a host of reasons for this method of eating in his books, and it is not my intent to steal his thunder here. Suffice to say, The Paleo Diet is worth a read to understand why eating this way is such an excellent idea.
As noted in my last post, Dr. Cordain also co-wrote The Paleo Diet for Athletes with Joe Friel. The Paleo Diet for Athletes adapts the diet for athletes who train at a high level, and details why the adaptations are necessary.

Welcome
Welcome to my new blog on the Paleo Diet (PD). I decided to start this blog after reading Loren Cordain's The Paleo Diet and The Paleo Diet for Athletes, which is an adaptation of his original book that he co-authored with Joe Friel. The books inspired me to start writing because they make sense and are extremely relevant to the health crisis that is currently facing our Nation.
The goal of this blog is to further the base of knowledge regarding the PD, encourage others to incorporate the PD into their lives, and serve as self-motivation for my own efforts to change my life for the better.
A word of caution. I am not a PHD, Certified Personal Trainer, or Registered Dietitian. The views I express in this blog are my own, and/or are adapted from readings, cited appropriately. Everyone is different, and one should consult with a physician prior to undertaking a new diet or exercise routine. By reading this blog you agree I am not responsible for any actions taken as a result.
